Installation... MARInA System © TNE) 1998
System-Requirements:
Workbench 3.x
at least 68030, 40MHz, 1MB CHIP / 4MB FAST RAM.
Screens >640x480 Pixels. optimal >= 800x600. min. 4 colors
Harddisk-Space needed: some 4 MB on SYS: (Huge? See below!)
Installing MARInA...
* First, please consult the Aminet to get the newest
ToolManager3.1 archive. Install it if possible by
using the install-procedure's default settings...
so far if it doesn't run already on your system.
* Then, reserve about 15-30 minutes for the installation
of MARInA. This is required, because while installing,
you will go through a little tutorial as well as
configuring MARInA to your needs.
* Read across the guide after having read this text ...
* As soon as you click the button "Install..." inside
the Guide (Side 4), the interactive installation gets
started in your locally preferred language (if not
german, english will be the automatically preconfigured
language at the moment).
* All further actions are explained and gone through
step by step now. You may quit everytime you want,
the installation will run interactively.
* If error messages, such as "version failed ..." will
appear in a Shell-window while the installer is running
don't worry... this has no influence to the install-
procedure. This may occur, when the version command of
the workbench is called by MARInA, which reacts buggy
when checking some special files/programs and then
complains in the described way.
* Please, follow the instructions. Thanks.
* All further information will be explained
(including the functional concept of the software).

Needed Harddisk-Space:
The left column shows the space in MBytes for each unpacked
MARInA-Packet.
The middle column shows the needed space for each MARInA
Packet on your system partition (SYS:).
The right column shows the needed space for each MARInA Packet's
online-parts. Because MARInA finally makes all online-help
manuals directly available to the user (on the fingertip),
I would heavily suggest you to let install all online-help parts
of MARInA to your system as well. Even more, online-help is
a must for modern systems (see UNIX, Windows, ... ).
... everyone should have place for that - who on earth likes
rolling paper, when everything could be easily done directly
on the computer?

Sum: [8,8] 5,0 suggested + 3,0 (should) = 8 MB

This, indeed, seems to be huge, but within MARInA you will get
tons of proofed and preconfigured programs out of aminet/util/cli
readily installed to your system. Perhaps, you may later erase some
of their duplicates which already reside on your system (SYS:c/ e.g.).
Your system path has been enhanced by the installtion to make those
binaries available to your shell as well as to MARInA.
