  6. System-Requirements:
  7.  
  8.     Workbench 3.x
  9.     at least 68030, 40MHz, 1MB CHIP / 4MB FAST RAM.
  10.     Screens >640x480 Pixels. optimal >= 800x600. min. 4 colors

  12.     Harddisk-Space needed: some 4 MB on SYS:  (Huge? See below!)

  15. Installing MARInA...
  16.  
  17.     * First, please consult the Aminet to get the newest
  18.       ToolManager3.1 archive. Install it if possible by
  19.       using the install-procedure's default settings...
  20.       so far if it doesn't run already on your system.
  21.  
  22.     * Then, reserve about 15-30 minutes for the installation
  23.       of MARInA. This is required, because while installing,
  24.       you will go through a little tutorial as well as
  25.       configuring MARInA to your needs.
  26.  
  27.     * Read across the guide after having read this text ...
  28.  
  29.     * As soon as you click the button "Install..." inside
  30.       the Guide (Side 4), the interactive installation gets
  31.       started in your locally preferred language (if not
  32.       german, english will be the automatically preconfigured
  33.       language at the moment).
  34.  
  35.     * All further actions are explained and gone through
  36.       step by step now. You may quit everytime you want,
  37.       the installation will run interactively.
  38.    
  39.     * If error messages, such as "version failed ..." will
  40.       appear in a Shell-window while the installer is running
  41.       don't worry... this has no influence to the install-
  42.       procedure. This may occur, when the version command of
  43.       the workbench is called by MARInA, which reacts buggy
  44.       when checking some special files/programs and then
  45.       complains in the described way.

  47.     * Please, follow the instructions. Thanks.

  50.       (including the functional concept of the software).

  55. Needed Harddisk-Space:
  56.  
  57. The left column shows the space in MBytes for each unpacked
  58. MARInA-Packet.
  59.  
  60. The middle column shows the needed space for each MARInA
  61. Packet on your system partition (SYS:).
  62.  
  63. The right column shows the needed space for each MARInA Packet's 
  64. online-parts. Because MARInA finally makes all online-help
  65. manuals directly available to the user (on the fingertip),
  66. I would heavily suggest you to let install all online-help parts
  67. of MARInA to your system as well. Even more, online-help is
  68. a must for modern systems (see UNIX, Windows, ... ).

  70. ... everyone should have place for that - who on earth likes
  71. rolling paper, when everything could be easily done directly
  72. on the computer?

  91. This, indeed, seems to be huge, but within MARInA you will get
  92. tons of proofed and preconfigured programs out of aminet/util/cli
  93. readily installed to your system. Perhaps, you may later erase some
  94. of their duplicates which already reside on your system (SYS:c/ e.g.).
  95. Your system path has been enhanced by the installtion to make those
  96. binaries available to your shell as well as to MARInA.
